Letting it all hang out…as if

Thank you oh so much…Thank you…(reaches for hanky, sneezes profusely, sneezes profusely, wipes at imaginary tears, waves at gathering crowd of curious onlookers). I am both humbled and in a state of euphoria at having received this award from Apr9.

This state of excitement can only be compared to the high I got on receiving a goat after winning the village ‘ekigwo’ way back in first year, Campus…yes, I had travelled home for X-mas and was hustled into joining the ‘ekigwo’ competition. I had a hunch I’d win (the Campus posho and weevils had left me ‘well-endowed’ in ways the village chaps just couldn’t keep up with). Another thing, in light of the fact that I’m supposed to brag about this, I’ll say, rather modestly, that I had it coming…honestly, two of these awards had my name on them. Nuff.

1. I do not watch soccer. And I have no love for cars. However, my knowledge of soccer can pass…I know Beckham left Man U to take on a full-time modeling career together with his wife. He spends his days sipping cognac and occasionally sending another baby (read designer baby) into the world.

2. I have a passion for web programming, and I’m quite good at it…that plus I have lots and lots of knowledge on PCs. Usually repair people’s PCs…picked the knowledge here and there; both the programming and PC stuff

3. I am big on old skool, Tanya Stephens (no surprises there), Lauryn Hill, India Arie and all the mellow stuff. My old skool collection I am really proud of…I don’t do rock, for various reasons. And no amount of convincing will make me see otherwise

4. I remember dates like a problem. I know anniversaries, birthdays,…the works

5. I lie a lot-when I chose to. Its fun…but more often than not, THEY know I’m lying…it’s little white lies of ‘what do you do?’, ‘what are you thinking?’…you know, the type where the lie is such fun, THEY know you are lying but don’t insist on knowing the truth

6. My religious life took a nose dive in first year, Campus and has never really recovered. Did some deep research that left me with too many questions. I am still tight with God, but there’s just too much church stuff I just do not believe in anymore

7. I do not mug, lift weights or whatever one may call it, though my physique suggests otherwise. I quit telling people the truth (since no one believes me, because of 5) so I say I wake up everyday at 3am and mug till 6am

8. I love throwing parties. Have thrown more than I can care to remember; onetime used the house when parents had travelled…another time, threw parties every weekend for a month, straight

9. I suck with directions. Completely. Have to buy a GPS thingi soon…I’ve even gotten lost going to pick HER up…

10. I feel I’m wild at heart, kept in cages…would do a tattoo but my complexion won’t hear of it, did dreads but got bogged down by the external stress…

11. I love bending the rules(This should explain n0. 11)…I am neat. Can’t stand a messy abode

Guess that is why you throw all those parties, you always almost never make it to other peoples parties due to forgotten directions. And since you made a Kalango- I have this PC I haven’t used in a long time so I forgot the password and I can’t get into BIOS for some reason. shoot.
